The draw for the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals in South Africa has been conducted. In the draw, the big teams avoided facing each other.
Last season’s finalists, Mamelodi Sundowns, will face the winner from the trio of Milford/Royal/Sekhukhune United. Meanwhile, Marumo Gallants will go up against Durban City.
Kaizer Chiefs, who have not won a trophy in the last 10 years, will compete against Stellenbosch. Although Stellenbosch has shown good form this season, Chiefs have already defeated them twice in the league. This makes Chiefs the favorites to progress to the next round.
The most anticipated clash of the quarterfinals is expected to be between SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates. While Orlando Pirates are in great form, SuperSport United has the potential to cause an upset.
So far, seven teams have been confirmed for the quarterfinals. Royal AM and Sekhukhune have yet to play their last 32 match. The winner of that game will face Milford, completing the final eight teams in the tournament.
Although the draw has been made, the dates for the matches have not yet been confirmed.
