Zimbabwe secured a nine-wicket victory against Ireland, thanks to Ben Curran’s unbeaten 118, winning the ODI series 2-1.
The opening batter remained at the crease throughout his team’s innings, scoring 118 runs off 130 balls, including 14 boundaries.
Having started playing for Zimbabwe in December, he managed to achieve his first century in such a short time.
Ireland, on the other hand, managed to post a total of 240-6 in their 50 overs.
Andrew Balbirnie contributed 64 runs, Lorcan Tucker added 61, and Harry Tector supported the team with 51 runs.
For the hosts, Richard Ngarava (2-42) and Trevor Gwandu (2-44) were the standout bowlers.
However, Zimbabwe comfortably chased down the target in just 39.3 overs. They had won the first match on Friday, but Ireland leveled the series with a victory on Sunday.
With this match, Zimbabwe claimed the ODI series victory.
Now, the two teams will face each other in a three-match T20 series, starting on Saturday. Ireland will be without batter Ross Adair, who has been ruled out due to injury.
