Rulani Mokwena has not approved the South African national team player.
Lebo Mothiba, who played for Strasbourg before being released after an injury, scored a total of 20 goals during his five seasons at the club.
The 28-year-old forward returned to the national team after a long injury layoff and is now training with various teams in search of a new club.
Mothiba had been keeping fit at his former club Strasbourg but joined training at Wydad Casablanca, coached by Rulani Mokwena, at the start of the year.
It is well known that Mothiba was a devoted Sundowns fan during his youth, and Mokwena had previously coached the Sundowns. This connection raised hopes that Mothiba could transfer to Wydad Casablanca.
Despite training with the Moroccan club, Mothiba was seen as a potential first-choice player for South Africa again. However, Wydad Casablanca has officially announced that they do not intend to sign him.
Mothiba now appears to be in search of another club. While there is reported interest in him, signing with a team soon is crucial for his career.
Playing before the World Cup qualifiers in March could significantly impact his chances of maintaining his form and securing his place in the national team.
