After his loan move from Napoli to Galatasaray, Victor Osimhen has drawn significant interest from several major clubs.
Among them, Manchester United, one of England’s top clubs, showed the most serious interest during the January transfer window.
The Red Devils’ attacking players have managed to score only 15 goals in the Premier League this season. As a team, Manchester United is outscored by all but four teams in the league.
This lack of firepower has made the 25-year-old Nigerian star an attractive target. With Napoli eager to sell and Osimhen regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, United was determined to secure his signature.
However, Osimhen rejected the offer, a decision that has reportedly angered Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis. The player’s current release clause is set at €81 million, but this figure will drop to €75 million in the summer transfer window.
Napoli’s management is frustrated at missing out on the additional €6 million they could have secured by completing the deal in January.
Despite this setback, Manchester United continues to monitor Osimhen’s situation closely and remains keen on acquiring him in the future.
