Nigerian star Victor Osimhen is wanted by top clubs from all around the world.
One of his most serious suitors, Manchester United, has now made its final decision regarding the player.
According to Soccernet.ng, Manchester United has withdrawn from the race to sign the striker.
Speaking to NBC Sports, David Ornstein also confirmed that Osimhen is no longer being considered by Manchester United. According to his statement, the club will be targeting different players:
“If Manchester United are to look at others, I can say with certainty that it will not be Victor Osimhen,” he said. “Contrary to some reports you may have read, he is not on United’s agenda.”
Instead of Osimhen, United are reportedly interested in two other options. The first alternative is Liam Delap, who currently plays for Ipswich. The second option is a potential decision to retain Rasmus Højlund.
“They may look at different options because they might need to. Or they could turn to internal solutions, such as Rasmus Højlund, and focus on strengthening other positions,” Ornstein added.
A move to the Premier League is still possible for Victor Osimhen, but for now, Manchester United has officially ruled itself out of the race.
