Since the beginning of the summer transfer window, AC Milan have been looking to strengthen their attacking line and, for this reason, have been in talks with Bayer Leverkusen’s Nigerian forward Victor Boniface. The deal is now reportedly close to being completed.
The striker is expected to join the Italian giants on loan, with a purchase option included in the agreement.
Although Boniface experienced a dip in form last season, his physical presence and finishing ability make him a dangerous forward who can trouble defenders.
Milan had been considering adding either Victor Boniface or Rasmus Højlund to their attack. It now seems highly likely that Boniface will be the one to join.
As a result, the transfer of Rasmus Højlund has effectively collapsed. However, Manchester United were still keen to loan him out.
Meanwhile, with Romelu Lukaku sidelined for four months due to a thigh injury at Napoli, a potential move for Højlund to the Serie A side could still be on the cards.
