African football continues to make its mark on Europe. In one of the world’s biggest leagues, La Liga, several young African talents have caught the eye with their performances.
Among the most outstanding names this season were Christantus Uche of Getafe and Omar El Hilali of RCD Espanyol.
Despite their young age, both players have already drawn the attention of several major clubs.
Christantus Uche joined Getafe this summer. The 22-year-old Nigerian, who does not yet have a fixed natural position, was even deployed as a striker in some matches.
Throughout the season, he featured in various roles and managed to record 4 goals and 6 assists in 33 league appearances. Uche proved his versatility by playing as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, and number ten.
Omar El Hilali, on the other hand, became the second most-used player in his team. The 21-year-old right-back delivered a remarkable season statistically.
He led the league in successful tackles with 79, ranked fourth in blocked passes with 40, ninth in interceptions with 46, and had the highest combined total of tackles and interceptions in La Liga.
