The new head coach of the Tunisian national team is Sami Trabelsi. He was appointed to replace Faouzi Benzarti, who left his position in October.
Having previously held this role between 2010 and 2013, the experienced coach is now more ambitious than ever.
Trabelsi has stated that he will step down if Tunisia fails to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.
The team has performed well in the qualifiers so far, collecting 10 points from four matches. With three wins and one draw, Tunisia currently leads Group H.
In March, Trabelsi’s team will face Liberia and Malawi in crucial qualifying matches. Tunisia has successfully qualified for the last two World Cups, and their chances of securing a spot in this one also look promising.
Regarding the qualifiers, Trabelsi made the following statements:
“I will strive with the entire technical team to achieve what we hope for.”
“The first objective of my contract with the Tunisian Football Federation is to qualify the team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and if we do not achieve this goal, I will immediately leave my position without hesitation.”
