Tunisia has become the first African country to host the MEDUSA Submarine Cable.
This development provides Tunisia with an opportunity to strengthen its digital connectivity and enhance its integration into the global digital economy.
The infrastructure project is supported by the European Union and the European Investment Bank under the Global Gateway initiative.
Spanning 1,040 kilometers with a capacity of 24 Tbps, the MEDUSA cable directly connects Tunisia to Marseille and the wider Mediterranean network.
As a result, Tunisia is set to become an emerging digital hub not only in Africa but also in the Mediterranean region.
In the long term, this move will support Tunisia’s economic development and help the population adapt more quickly to modern technology.
