A mural has been unveiled on the side of a house in Cardiff’s Grangetown area in memory of Sol Bamba, who sadly passed away last year at the age of 39.
The Ivorian defender made 117 appearances for Cardiff City, scoring 10 goals. With his performances, he played a key role in helping the team gain promotion to the Premier League.
Later on, Bamba began his coaching career and soon became regarded as a living legend. That legendary status has now been immortalised through this mural.
Cardiff director Steve Borley also attended the unveiling ceremony.
The iconic player passed away in Turkey, after being admitted to hospital while working at Adanaspor.
During his career, Bamba played for Dunfermline, Hibernian, Leicester City, Trabzonspor, Palermo, Leeds United, and Middlesbrough. He also earned 46 caps for the Ivory Coast national team.
