Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned champions in the South African league, and as a result, other top teams are now in a race to build stronger squads for next season.
In some cases, this competition even leads to direct battles between the clubs.
One such example is the transfer of Masindi ‘Confidence’ Nemtajela, who played for Marumo Gallants. The central midfielder, who scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists last season, was signed by Orlando Pirates, beating their rivals Kaizer Chiefs to his signature.
Orlando Pirates made the move to fill the gap left by the departure of Miguel Timm, and they believe that Masindi ‘Confidence’ Nemtajela can effectively take over his role on the pitch.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, a club official said:
“The scouts and recruiters were looking for a direct replacement for Timm. Masindi fit that profile perfectly, which is why they went for him. Everything is now finalized, and a three-year contract has been agreed upon.”
