In the final week of the Turkish Süper Lig, three Nigerian players were named in the Team of the Week.
Among those selected is Victor Osimhen, widely regarded as one of the best players of the season, who scored in Galatasaray’s title-clinching match.
The 26-year-old striker netted his 25th league goal and 36th overall of the season with that strike, helping Galatasaray secure their 25th league title.
Another Nigerian player included in the Team of the Week is Ibrahim Olawoyin of Rizespor. Rizespor defeated Göztepe 6-3, and Olawoyin contributed significantly with one goal and one assist in the match.
The third Nigerian named is Hatayspor’s young striker Jonathan Okoronkwo. The 21-year-old had a standout performance, scoring twice and registering an assist in Hatayspor’s dominant 5-0 win.
Team of the Week
The full Team of the Week is as follows: In goal, 17-year-old Emir Daduk of Hatayspor. The defensive line features Yusuf Sarı (Başakşehir), Mert Müldür (Fenerbahçe), Recep Yılmaz (Hatayspor), and Evren Eren Elmalı (Galatasaray).
In midfield, Olawoyin is joined by Dusan Tadic of Fenerbahçe. On the wings, Altin Zeqiri (Rizespor) and Bilal Boutobba (Hatayspor) were selected.
Up front, an all-Nigerian strike partnership leads the line: Victor Osimhen and Jonathan Okoronkwo stood out as a dynamic and prolific duo.
