Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu has removed January Makamba from his role as Foreign Affairs Minister and Nape Moses from his position as ICT Minister.
In the recent announcement made on Sunday evening, Ambassador Mahmoud Kombo will succeed Makamba as the new Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Minister and has also been nominated for a parliamentary seat. Kombo, who previously served as Tanzania’s ambassador to Italy, will now step into this new role.
William Silaha has been appointed as the new ICT Minister, taking over from his previous role as the Minister of Lands, Housing, and Human Settlements. John Ndejembi will now head the Lands Ministry.
He previously served as Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, responsible for Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities.
In other adjustments, President Suluhu has appointed Cosato Chumi as the new Deputy Foreign Minister, replacing Nassor Mabrouk, who will be given other responsibilities.
Ridhiwani Kikwete has been named Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, moving from his previous role as Deputy Minister of State in the President’s Office, where he handled Public Service Management and Good Governance.
Clement Sangu will now serve as Deputy Minister of State in the Office of the President, focusing on Public Service Management and Good Governance.
Additionally, there have been changes in permanent secretaries and new appointments in provincial administration, including district commissioners.
