In an effort to strengthen leadership across a range of industries, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has announced a number of significant appointments and transfers within her administration.
The new appointments are scheduled to take the oath of office on Friday, August 15, according to a statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communications, which quoted information from Chief Secretary Ambassador Moses Kusiluka.
According to the release, CP. Salum Hamduni has been named by the president to serve as Shinyanga’s new regional administrative secretary.
CP. Hamduni was the Director General of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) prior to this assignment.
Prof. Siza Tumbo, who has resumed his academic duties at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), steps down and is replaced.
Mr. Ismail Rumatila has been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, which is another noteworthy appointment. Prior to this, Mr. Rumatila was the National Identification Authority’s (NIDA) Director General.
As the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government, with a focus in education, Mr. Atupele Mwambene has been appointed.
He held the position of Director of Policy and Planning in the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Education before this.
According to the official release, Mr. Abdul Rajab Mhinte has been assigned to the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, where he will be in charge of livestock as the Deputy Permanent Secretary.
Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Officer in the State House President’s Office. In the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Sports, Mr. Methusela Stephen Ntonda has also been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary.
He worked as a Senior Officer in the State House President’s Office prior to being appointed.
Similarly, Mr. Crispin Chalamila, a former senior officer in the president’s office, was named director general of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB).
Additionally, CPA Moremi Andrea Marwa, who was previously the CEO of the Prisons Corporation Sole (SHIMA), has been named the Director General of the Tanzania Telecommunications Corporation (TTCL).
