“We have many dedicated people at @SportArtsCultur, but there are a few corrupt figures who operate like mafias. Some are influenced by creatives who use politicians’ names to seek funding. I will ensure the removal of corrupt elements and safeguard the honest ones. Together, we will bring pride to South Africa,” McKenzie affirmed.
Nepotism remains a significant issue within his department, he mentioned in another statement.
” why do the same people always get selected? The same pattern repeats in funding allocations and tender awards.”
“The same beneficiaries are everywhere. I cannot allow this to persist without receiving clear explanations,” he stated.
This follows his firm position on Tuesday opposing the employment of ‘super fans’.
The individuals known as ‘super-fans’, Mama Joy Chauke and Botha Msila, attended the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France to support the Springboks, costing South African taxpayers approximately R1.3 million.
