South African climate-technology company Plentify has received a $15 million investment to further develop its AI-powered home-energy platform.
With this investment, the company aims to connect household appliances to cleaner and more affordable energy sources.
E3 Capital, along with Secha Capital, Buffet Investments, Fireball Capital, the Endeavor SA Harvest Fund, and Satgana, were among the investors participating in Plentify’s funding round.
Through its existing partnerships, the project has already aggregated 100 MWh of residential energy capacity and enabled savings of 9.9 GWh of electricity. As a result, households have been able to save more than 40 million rand in energy costs.
With this investment, Plentify aims to continue supporting utilities as they work to balance grid load, manage rising energy prices, and transition to a cleaner energy mix—highlighting the growing interest in AI-enabled demand-side energy solutions in South Africa.
