South African side Orlando Pirates, who made a strong start to last season, were eliminated from the CAF Champions League due to injuries and eventually finished second in the league.
As a result, the Pirates began an early squad rebuild and have already added nine new players to their roster.
Most recently, the club announced the signing of former Sundowns star Sipho Mbule. Prior to that, they had secured the services of Kabelo Kgositsile, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli, Tshepang Moremi, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, and Yanela Mbuthuma.
According to Sportswire, the Pirates are now targeting Jaisen Clifford as their next potential signing.
With Mofokeng and Saleng both linked with possible departures, this move appears to be a logical and strategic one for the club.
Clifford’s ability to play on both wings and the fact that he could join for free — as his contract expires at the end of the season — makes him an attractive option for the South African giants.
