Qualcomm, a global leader in wireless technology, has opened applications for the Make in Africa Startup Mentorship Programme to support emerging technology startups in Africa.
Through this program, startups will gain access to experienced engineers, expert coaching, and guidance on intellectual property protection.
Qualcomm is a company that develops essential services for software, semiconductors, and wireless technologies. It has been involved in supporting entrepreneurs and innovators across Africa.
For example, in December 2022, the company launched the African Innovation Platform, which also includes the Make in Africa Startup Mentorship Programme. This equity-free mentorship initiative aims to identify and support early-stage startups looking to leverage advanced connectivity and processing technologies to create innovative end-to-end system solutions.
The program also offers startups a comprehensive suite of resources, including business coaching to help refine their strategies, engineering consultations to aid in product development, and expert advice on effectively protecting their intellectual property. This support enables startups to navigate the complexities of the technology landscape and gain a competitive advantage.
Applications for the mentorship program are currently open and will remain open until February 16. The program is scheduled to take place between April and December.
