PUMA has decided to become a sponsor of AFCON 2025. In the 35th edition of the tournament, the German sports brand will provide match balls and referee equipment.
Having supported African football for more than 30 years, PUMA considers AFCON “not just a competition, but a celebration of culture, passion, and talent.”
The tournament will take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, with 24 teams competing. AFCON will be hosted in Morocco for the second time in its history, with matches played in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir, and Fez.
OFFICIAL MATCH BALL TAKES ITS NAME FROM THE MOROCCAN FLAG
PUMA has also introduced “ITRI,” the official match ball of the tournament. Meaning “star” in the Amazigh language, the name represents the star featured on the Moroccan flag.
The ball features Morocco’s red and green national colours, star-shaped motifs, petal-like outlines, and circular symmetry. Equipped with PUMA’s advanced Orbita 6 technology, it offers elite-level precision and durability.
The brand will also equip five national teams at AFCON 2025: Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, Senegal, and Ghana. Many of these teams have won AFCON titles in the past while wearing PUMA kits.
PUMA AND MOROCCO’S PARTNERSHIP GOES BEYOND SPORT
PUMA’s relationship with Morocco extends beyond sport and includes community support initiatives. After the earthquake in Al Haouz, the company donated products to affected regions, aiming to strengthen its bond with Africa through humanitarian work.
Over the past five years, PUMA has expanded rapidly across the continent, opening more than 80 stores. This expansion is particularly significant in Morocco, where the brand plans further growth ahead of AFCON 2025. For PUMA, the tournament is not only a sporting event but also an opportunity to connect with consumers on a deeper level.
During the competition, the company plans to create experiential store environments and special activations that combine sport, culture, and style. Additionally, Morocco’s role as a co-host of the 2030 FIFA World Cup positions AFCON 2025 as a long-term strategic milestone for both the country and PUMA.
