Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze is expected to leave AC Milan during this summer transfer window.
The club showing the most serious interest in the player is English side Fulham. The Premier League club has officially opened talks with AC Milan, and the transfer is expected to be completed in a short time.
Chukwueze joined Milan from Villarreal two years ago but failed to make the desired impact. Since then, he has struggled to secure regular playing time in the team.
The 26-year-old had decent minutes under head coach Stefano Pioli two seasons ago and under Paulo Fonseca during the first half of last season. However, he was unable to fully capitalize on those opportunities.
Now, with Massimiliano Allegri appointed as Milan’s new manager, it is widely believed that he also does not have much confidence in the player.
Mallorca and Real Sociedad have also shown interest in Chukwueze, but their pursuit has not been as clear or concrete as Fulham’s.
Milan is expected to sell the player for a fee exceeding €10 million.
