The Basketball Africa League group stage is continuing in full excitement. On May 25th, the teams that will qualify for the playoffs will be determined. While some teams are already out of contention, others have secured their spots.
In the Sahara and Kalahari groups, the results are already finalized. However, in the Nile group, six matches remain—two of which will be played today.
In the Sahara group, Tunisian side US Monastirienne finished first with 4 wins and 2 losses in 6 games, securing a place in the playoffs. The runner-up of the group was Angolan team Petro de Luanda. Kriol Star and Ville de Dakar have been eliminated from the tournament.
In the Kalahari group, Egyptian team Itthad Alexandria went undefeated and topped the group. Nigerian side Rivers Hoopers finished second and also advanced to the playoffs. FUS Rabat and Stade Malien were eliminated.
In the Nile group, the competition remains intense and all teams still have a chance. Today, Al Ahli Tripoli will face Nairobi City Thunder. If Nairobi City Thunder loses this match, they will be eliminated from the tournament.
Later in the day, the final match will see MBB take on Armee Patriotiques Rwandaise.
