Patrick Aussems, a former coach of Kenya’s AFC Leopards and someone familiar with the league, has been dismissed from his role in Tanzania and could become the new head coach of Kenya Police.
Aussems was let go by Singida Black Stars after failing to win the team’s last three matches, leaving him currently without a job. This presents an opportunity for Kenya Police, who are currently without a permanent head coach.
Kenya Police had temporarily appointed Beldine Odemba, the coach of Kenya Police Bullets, as interim head coach. However, her tenure came to an end on Tuesday after the team’s 1-1 draw with KCB.
Kenya Police had also been considering former Kenya national team coach Francis Kimanzi for the role, but given Aussems’ familiarity with the league, they are likely to explore this option as well.
During his time in Tanzania, Aussems faced significant challenges due to the club’s limited resources, which made it difficult for him to build the squad he wanted, ultimately hindering his success.
However, Kenya Police does not have such financial constraints and could offer him the necessary budget if they decide to appoint him.
