In the South Africa Carling Knockut Cup, Mamelodi Sundowns and Magesi will face off in the final.
The semi-final matches were completed this past weekend, and Magesi, one of the in-form teams of recent times, managed to knock Richards Bay FC out of the tournament.
Tshepo Mashigo scored the first and only goal for his team in the 26th minute. In a fiercely contested game, the referee issued a total of six yellow cards and sent off Richards Bay FC midfielder Tlakusani Mthethwa with a red card in the 84th minute, leaving his team with ten players. The match ended 1-0, and Magesi advanced to the final.
On the other hand, Sundowns, the league champions for the past seven years and another team currently in excellent form, defeated Marumo Gallants.
Lucas Ribiero gave Sundowns the lead in the 53rd minute with a penalty, and they managed to hold onto this advantage. The score was finally settled by substitute Neo Maema, who netted a goal in the 90+3rd minute.
These two teams will now face each other in the final. Will Sundowns add yet another cup to their collection, or will Magesi bring an end to their impressive run?
