Nissan, which has previously introduced its e-Power hybrid vehicles in countries such as Tunisia, Morocco, and Egypt, is now preparing to bring this technology to the South African market.
With this move, Nissan Motor aims to serve as a bridge in the country’s transition from petrol-powered cars to electric vehicles.
The company anticipates that e-Power vehicles could become a preferred choice among South African consumers. Despite undergoing a global restructuring process, Nissan places significant importance on the South African market.
In July 2025, although sales in Japan fell by 19%, global sales rose by more than 4%, reaching a total of 262,745 vehicles. This outcome has fueled expectations that the company may invest even more heavily in international markets in the future.
If sales in South Africa perform well, Nissan could expand into other African markets as well.
