Nigerian Midfielder Tino Anjorin, a Product of Chelsea’s Academy, Targeted by Atalanta and Torino
Tino Anjorin, a 22-year-old central midfielder with Nigerian roots, is drawing attention from Atalanta and Torino.
Currently playing for Empoli in Serie A, the talented player has made his mark with three assists this season. Torino is particularly interested in Anjorin, but Atalanta, with its stronger financial backing and appeal as a career-advancing club, might be a more attractive option for the player.
Anjorin joined Empoli on a free transfer after failing to make a significant impact at Chelsea. However, the young midfielder has found his footing in Serie A, becoming an important asset for Empoli. Torino is eager to finalize a deal quickly, but Atalanta can offer Anjorin the opportunity to compete in European competitions.
Empoli is reportedly reluctant to part with the player mid-season, given his improving performances and contributions to the team. Before joining Empoli, Anjorin had loan spells at Lokomotiv Moscow, Huddersfield Town, and Portsmouth. If he continues this upward trajectory, he could develop into a more prominent player in the future.
Internationally, Anjorin could still opt to represent the Nigerian national team, despite having played for England at youth levels. The midfielder’s next destination this season remains uncertain.
