28-year-old photographer Saidu Abdulrahman from Yobe State, Nigeria, has set a new Guinness World Record for the most portraits taken in a single hour, capturing an impressive 897 shots in just 60 minutes. The feat, which was achieved in September 2024, surpassed the previous record of 500 portraits.
Abdulrahman, who aims to raise awareness of photography in Nigeria, has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records after a year of preparation. The record-breaking event took place in Potiskum, Yobe State of Nigeria, and was attended by local officials, students and supporters.
Expressing his excitement in a heartfelt post on Facebook, Abdulrahman said the feat was a proud moment for him and a reflection of the dedication and support of his family, friends and mentors. He dedicated the recording to all Nigerians, emphasising that this achievement belongs to all those who believe in him.
