The Unity Cup finalists have been decided. In the last semi-final match, Nigeria managed to defeat Ghana 2-1. It was Nigeria who started the game on the front foot.
In the 14th minute, experienced striker Cyriel Dessers scored a brilliant goal after converting a well-placed assist from Ismaila Sodiq.
Just five minutes later, Ghanaian defender Razak Simpson, under intense pressure, scored an own goal, making it 2-0 in favor of Nigeria.
Although Ghana pushed forward, the score remained the same until the 70th minute. Ghana’s only goal came from Brandon Thomas Asante, and the match ended 2-1.
Nigeria will now face Jamaica in the final. The final will take place on Saturday, April 31. Jamaica had previously defeated Trinidad & Tobago 3-2 to become the first team to book their place in the final.
On the same day as the final, Ghana and Trinidad & Tobago will face off in the third-place match.
