Yesterday, the Nigeria–South Africa and Morocco–Ghana matches were played. Following these games, Nigeria and Morocco secured their spots in the final.
Nigeria’s first goal came in the 45th minute from the penalty spot. In response, South Africa earned a penalty in the 60th minute and leveled the score at 1-1.
Just seconds before the end of regular time, Michelle Alioze scored the winning goal for Nigeria.
With this goal, Nigeria became the first team to reach the final. They have now managed to qualify for the finals of the last AFCON, WAFU B, and the Women’s AFCON.
The match between Morocco and Ghana was fiercely contested.
Ghana scored the opening goal in the 26th minute and led 1-0 at halftime. However, Morocco had no intention of giving up. They equalized in the 55th minute through Sakina Ouzraoui Diki.
No more goals were scored, and the match ended 1-1. As the score remained unchanged in extra time, the game was decided by a penalty shootout.
Morocco converted all of their penalties and advanced to the final. The championship match will take place this Friday.
