Namibia has officially launched the second edition of the Global African Hydrogen Summit, set to take place in Windhoek from 9 to 11 September 2025. Held under the theme “Ambition in Action: Fuelling Africa’s Green Industrial Revolution,” the event aims to drive forward the continent’s green hydrogen agenda and attract strategic energy investments.
Following a strong turnout last year—with more than 1,500 participants representing over 75 countries—the summit is expected to grow in both scope and impact. Over 150 global exhibitors showcased technologies at the inaugural event, highlighting rising global interest in Africa’s renewable energy potential.
Organized by dmg events in collaboration with the Namibian government, the summit is backed by the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB). It forms part of Namibia’s broader strategy to position itself as a regional leader in green hydrogen production and export.
This year’s edition is expected to draw a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including African heads of state, international policymakers, investors, industrialists, and technology experts. The focus will be on creating bankable projects, aligning policy frameworks, and fostering partnerships that can turn Africa’s renewable energy ambitions into large-scale industrial and economic transformation.
As the continent seeks to transition away from fossil fuels while meeting growing energy demands, green hydrogen is emerging as a key pillar of Africa’s energy future. The summit will provide a platform for cross-border collaboration, innovation sharing, and investment mobilization across sectors.
Namibia’s proactive approach has already drawn global attention, and the upcoming summit is set to solidify its role at the heart of Africa’s green transition.
