Cameroonian-French interim WBC middleweight champion Christian Mbilli retained his belt after a draw in his title fight against Léster Martínez.
The bout, held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, saw both fighters deliver impressive performances and receive strong support from the crowd.
Mbilli was the one applying pressure, but Martínez did not shy away from it and showed no fear in going toe-to-toe with him.
After 10 rounds, judge Chris Migliore scored the fight 96-94 in favor of Mbilli, while Patricia Morse Jarman had it 97-93 for Martínez. Glenn Feldman’s 95-95 card resulted in a draw.
The scores drew no controversy, as both fighters put on an outstanding and highly competitive performance.
