USF Malawi has successfully completed the Mobile Network Tower Development Project, covering four districts to enhance mobile connectivity in the country’s rural areas.
The project, which includes Nkhotakota, Balaka, Dedza, and Ntcheu, focused on identifying and developing optimal tower locations to expand signal coverage and improve connectivity in rural, unserved, and underserved communities.
The initiative aims to increase mobile network access, enabling citizens to communicate effectively and participate actively in the digital economy.
Implemented by the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) through the Universal Service Fund, the project was also carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Digitalization and the Public-Private Partnership Commission.
As a result of this initiative, digital access has been expanded, marking an important step toward Malawi’s broader digital transformation goals.
