According to sources in Türkiye who spoke to WAJ on condition of anonymity, the Akıncı drones played a crucial role in tracking and eliminating the militants. The reports suggest that the strike occurred as terrorist group militants owere leaving a high-level meeting where they had been coordinating attacks on government positions.
According to Horn Pulse a local news platform Somali security sources indicate that operatives from the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) had infiltrated Al-Shabaab, helping expose militant tactics, including the use of disguises. Some of the fighters were reportedly dressed in women’s clothing to avoid detection.
Türkiye-Somalia Relations to Enter a New Phase
A high-ranking Turkish official speaking to WAJ hinted at deeper cooperation between the two nations beyond military operations.
“There will be major changes in Türkiye-Somalia relations. Steps will be taken for the peace and stability of the Somali people, and these will be very important,” the source told WAJ.
Meanwhile, WAJ recently reported that Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud may have requested a direct military intervention from Türkiye to help stabilize the country amid ongoing security challenges.
Former Somali Intelligence Chief Hints at ‘Good News’
Adding to the growing speculation, former Somali Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Director Gen. Abdullahi Mohamed Ali “Tuuryare,” who is known to be close to President Mohamud, hinted at major developments.
“Good news will come within 72 hours,” Gen. Tuuryare stated, fueling speculation about upcoming security and political shifts in Somalia.
