Zinedine Zidane, a legend and an icon for the French national team who even led his country at World Cups, has seen his son Luca Zidane choose to represent the Algerian national team.
The young goalkeeper currently plays for Spanish second-division side Granada. In the past, he represented France at youth level, featuring for the U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 national teams.
At 27, this decision now opens the door for Luca to feature at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Zinedine Zidane has four sons, all of whom have had the chance to play in European football. The eldest, Enzo Zidane, decided to retire from his career earlier this year.
Theo Zidane and Elyaz Zidane are still at the beginning of their football journeys. Elyaz, just 19 years old and considered a big prospect, is also expected to follow in his brother Luca’s footsteps by representing Algeria in the future.
