Leeds United finished first in the Championship and secured promotion to the Premier League. As a result, the club is now looking to strengthen its squad through new signings.
Club chairman Paraag Marathe assured fans in an interview over the weekend that every penny Leeds is allowed to spend—under PSR regulations—will be spent.
Previously, the club had been linked with Marseille captain Leonardo Balerdi, with reports suggesting Leeds is ready to pay £20 million for the defender.
In terms of incoming transfers, the club’s main priorities include a goalkeeper, a centre-back, a left-back to replace Junior Firpo, a midfielder, a number 10, Manor Solomon, and a striker. However, recent developments indicate that the club is also targeting a winger.
Leeds’ main target for that position is Malian international Moussa Djenepo. The player has a €1.7 million release clause in his contract and is familiar with English football, having previously played for Southampton.
Currently on loan at Antalyaspor, the Malian winger has recorded 2 goals and 1 assist in 22 matches this season.
