In the Unity Cup semi-final, Jamaica faced off against Trinidad & Tobago.
The match, filled with goals, started in thrilling fashion. Jamaica took a 2-0 lead with a penalty by Kasey Palmer in the 24th minute and a composed finish by Rumarn Burrell in the 53rd minute.
However, Trinidad & Tobago managed to stage a comeback. Goals from Issiah Leacock and Kevin Molino brought the score level, setting up a tense finale.
The match continued at a high pace, and just when extra time seemed inevitable, Jamaica was awarded another penalty in the dying seconds of stoppage time.
Richard King stepped up and calmly converted the spot kick, securing Jamaica’s place in the final.
The winner of today’s clash between Nigeria and Ghana will determine who joins Jamaica in Saturday’s final.
The losing side will face Trinidad & Tobago in the third-place playoff.
