Faith Kipyegon has won her fourth world title in the 1500 metres.
The 31-year-old athlete became the only person in history, alongside retired runner Hicham El Guerrouj, to achieve this feat.
Kipyegon has not lost a 1500m race, excluding heats, for the past four years. She completed this race in 3:52.15. Kenyan Dorcus Ewoi finished second, while Jessica Hull came third.
The star athlete, who has won a total of eight gold medals, will now aim for a medal in the 5000 metres. The final of the 5000m race will be held on Saturday.
Faith Kipyegon last suffered defeat at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, where she lost to Sifan Hassan. Her unbeaten streak since then has made her an inspiration to young girls and women.
Her journey began as a child running barefoot to and from school in her village, and she even won her first global cross-country title without shoes.
She also made history as the oldest woman ever to win a 1500m world title.
