Mauritian cyclist Kimberley le Court won the 5th stage of the Tour de France Femmes and succeeded in taking the yellow jersey from Marianne Vos.
Previously, when she won the final stage of the 2024 Giro d’Italia, she became the first African rider to win a stage in one of cycling’s Grand Tours. This achievement brought her even more recognition.
The 29-year-old, who was previously the Mauritius national champion, has moved into the overall lead, 18 seconds ahead of France’s Pauline Ferrand-Prevot.
Marianne Vos dropped to sixth place, finishing 33 seconds behind.
There are only four stages left in the tour, and the riders will face the first mountain stage, a 123.7 km route between Clermont-Ferrand and Ambert.
Kimberley le Court leads the general classification with a time of 15 hours, 7 minutes, and 14 seconds, holding an 18-second advantage over her closest rival.
