President William Ruto announced that the financial and management challenges facing Moi University will be addressed soon, with a committee set up to assess the situation and propose solutions. Speaking at the opening of Ngeria Technical Training Institute, he assured that the government would allocate resources and create an efficient management team for the university’s success.
President Ruto also emphasized the importance of digital space for youth, urging them to use the internet for income-generating activities rather than engaging in harmful behavior. He warned against the emerging trend of sharing immoral content on social media.
Additionally, he unveiled efforts to enhance connectivity, with plans to extend 100,000 km of fiber optics to public institutions and connect 20,000 households to electricity in Uasin Gishu County as part of the broader Rural Electrification Programme. The President also highlighted significant economic improvements, including a reduction in inflation and the exchange rate, as well as successful initiatives like the subsidized fertilizer program that boosted food production.
During his visit to Uasin Gishu, President Ruto also inspected the Kimuri Earth Dam project, the Kipchoge Keino Stadium upgrades, and the Turbo Sub-County offices.
