Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho is set to join Samsunspor.
In recent weeks, several clubs have shown interest in the Sevilla forward, and his departure was considered almost certain.
This is because the player, despite joining Sevilla on a free transfer last year, failed to deliver strong performances.
As a result, Iheanacho was loaned to Middlesbrough for six months during the season, where he managed just 1 goal and 2 assists in 15 appearances.
Beşiktaş was also reportedly considering him as a backup striker; however, that move never materialized.
Now, Samsunspor is reportedly set to sign the player for €3.5 million.
If the transfer goes through, it will become a club record. Iheanacho is also said to earn €1.2 million per year.
Samsunspor finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season and aims to strengthen their squad with impactful signings.
However, Iheanacho is currently out of form and may not deliver the expected performances.
