Sunderland have signed Brighton’s Ivorian left winger Simon Adingra. The transfer fee paid by Sunderland to Brighton is reported to be £21 million.
Last season, Simon Adingra made 29 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
The 23-year-old was named the Best Young Player at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking about his transfer, the promising young talent said:
“It’s a pleasure to be here, and I’m really excited to get started. The club and the project are genuinely exciting.
“I spoke to everyone, and their interest in me made the decision easier – I wanted to be part of Sunderland’s future.
“Playing in the Premier League has been my dream since I was a child, and realizing that dream is truly incredible.
“There’s a big challenge ahead – we’ll be facing top-class players and strong opponents – but I’m ready for it.”
