Many top European clubs are eager to sign Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray, is nearing the end of his contract. Having directly contributed to 38 goals in 36 matches, Osimhen has become a key figure for the team. If he leaves this summer, it will cause deep disappointment among Galatasaray fans.
As a result, Galatasaray is working to secure a new contract with the player. However, another club has joined the race. Fenerbahce, who have trailed behind their rivals Galatasaray throughout the season — partly due to Osimhen’s impactful performances — is now entering the competition.
According to journalist Ahmet Ercanlar, Fenerbahce board member Hakan Safi is very eager to complete the transfer.
“Fenerbahce director Hakan Safi wants to sign Osimhen. He says, ‘Let’s join forces and make the transfer happen.’ He adds, ‘If necessary, I’ll pay the money myself,’” Ercanlar revealed.
Last year, Fenerbahce had the opportunity to loan Osimhen but turned it down, choosing instead to sign Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
However, interest in Osimhen remains strong across Europe. The first African player to win the Serie A Golden Boot is still being monitored by elite clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Arsenal, and Chelsea.
For this reason, the possibility of him staying in Turkey appears very slim.
