Fenerbahçe wants to remove foreign players from their squad who cannot be used due to the foreign player limit in the Süper Lig.
For this reason, Ghanaian center-back Alexander Djiku has recently been on the agenda for the Yellow-Blues’ departures.
It has been reported that Fenerbahçe has reached an agreement with Russian club Spartak Moscow regarding the sale of the experienced player.
Djiku’s decision is awaited for the transfer to be finalized. If the transfer goes through, Spartak Moscow will pay 2.5 million euros for the experienced center-back.
Having also performed well for the Ghana national team, Djiku could re-establish himself in the Russian League.
After the sale of the Ghanaian defender, Fenerbahçe will have 15 foreign players. If they do not reduce their squad further, they will not be able to register some players for league matches.
Fenerbahçe is expected to send one more player in addition to Djiku, and possibly at least two more in order to create room for new transfers.
Rodrigo Becao, Anderson Talisca, Ognjen Mimovic, and Sebastian Symanski are considered the most likely candidates to leave the club.
