Johannesburg will provide free Wi-Fi at Rea Vaya stations to increase digital access in the region.
This bus system, which began operations in August 2009, has significantly solved the city’s transportation problems.
With this move, travelers can now connect to the “Joburg Free Wi-Fi” network, transforming their travel time into an opportunity for productivity, entertainment, and seamless access to information. In case of an emergency, they will be able to inform their loved ones via the internet while on the road.
This initiative is led by the city’s digital infrastructure unit, MTC. Through such initiatives, MTC is working to modernize public services.
Currently, 35 stations are equipped with this service, and the project continues to expand day by day.
