Francis Amin has been elected as the president of the South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF).
Returning for a second term, Amin defeated the current president, General Augustine Maduot, in the elections.
Out of the 38 votes cast, Francis Amin received 26, securing his position as SSFF president until 2029. The election took place in a peaceful environment.
Amin expressed his gratitude to Maduot for his contributions and stated that he aims to build effectively upon the foundation provided.
Meanwhile, Maduot assured that he would assist Amin in the upcoming term.
Makur Majok and Deng Abdelrahman Aguer will serve as vice presidents during Amin’s new term.
During his first term, Amin led South Sudan to become a FIFA member and achieved the milestone of participating in the World Cup qualifiers for the first time.
However, he also faced criticism over the stalled renovation of Juba National Stadium, despite funding provided by FIFA.
