Fenerbahçe, aiming for a major rebuild ahead of next season, is looking to strengthen its attacking line.
The top candidate for this role is Victor Boniface — the compatriot of Victor Osimhen, who took the Turkish Süper Lig by storm this year.
Standing at 1.90 meters and boasting a powerful physique, the Nigerian forward has caught attention with his clinical finishing ability. Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly demanding a transfer fee of around €40 million. If completed, this would make Boniface the most expensive signing in Turkish football history.
Fenerbahçe’s new sporting director, Devin Özek, who previously worked at Leverkusen, could provide the club with a crucial edge in the negotiations. The 24-year-old striker scored 11 goals and provided 2 assists in 27 matches last season.
In January, Boniface was close to joining Saudi club Al-Nassr in a €50 million deal, but the transfer fell through at the last moment. Al-Nassr eventually signed Colombian forward Jhon Duran instead.
Now, Fenerbahçe is determined to complete this transfer and finally put an end to their long wait for a league title in the upcoming season.
