Karl Etta Eyong, who plays for Levante, has attracted the attention of major clubs this season with his impressive performances.
The 22-year-old Cameroonian forward has scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in 12 league appearances. His name is already being linked with Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.
Eyong, who has also started representing the Cameroon national team, has been praised by his national team coach Marc Brys, who described him as “dangerous” and “unpredictable” and said his skills could be valuable for any top-level team.
Brys said:
“He’s a very good player. Very modest and humble, which is a gift. He’s not an egotistical striker; he plays for the team. I like that: he works hard and draws attention so others can take advantage of the space.”
“He played one game with us and did well even though he didn’t score. He was an important addition to the squad. He has a good heart, is respectful, and has no negative attitude. That’s what makes him special.
“He needs to continue developing and integrate more fully into the team, but he has the potential to score a lot of goals. He’s already shown that, although he hasn’t yet reached his full potential. We want to keep working with him because he can continue to grow.”
Villarreal have the first option to re-sign Eyong next summer, but the large offers he is expected to receive could make this difficult.
