The Ethiopian Federal Police SWAT team has arrived in the United Arab Emirates to participate in the 2025 International SWAT Challenge, set to take place in Dubai from February 1 to 5. The event will feature 114 elite teams from 48 countries, including the United States and China, competing in various tactical disciplines.
Held at Al Ruwayyah Training City, the challenge will test participants in areas such as tactical maneuvers, officer rescue, assault operations, tower climbing, and obstacle courses. The competition aims to highlight global advancements in law enforcement techniques and foster international collaboration.
During the send-off ceremony, Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and professionalism. He emphasized the significance of the event in enhancing Ethiopia’s global presence while enabling an exchange of expertise with other nations.
Ahead of the competition, the Ethiopian Federal Police officers received specialized training from UAE experts, focusing on counter-terrorism, cybercrime investigations, and VIP security strategies, further boosting their preparedness for the global stage.
