Tourism Attractions in Ethiopia
Ethiopia, one of the ancient civilization in the world and the land of Origins has a lot to offer for international visitors. As the cradle of mankind, the country is endowed with incredible and conducive climatic condition throughout the year categorized under 18 agro ecological zone. Due to this very healthy whether condition, it has become one of the best destination for international tourists especially during the entrance of the two extreme weathers in other part of the world; freezing in winter, a heat wave and scorching sun during summer time.
Apart from the room temperature wheatear condition, Ethiopia encompasses all kind of tourism destination such as historical, religious, cultural, natural and ecotourism. Among these tourism destination 16 of the tangible and intangible heritage sites are inscribed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Among these, the Axum stelae, the Lalibela Rock Hewn Church, Harar Jugol, the Castle of Gondar and Tiya stelae are belongs to the tangible one whereas the most celebrated cultural and religious festivities are Irreecha, Ethiopian Epiphany, Meskel and Fichee Chambalaalla are some of the intangible world heritage registered by UNESCO.

To enhance tourism destination for various categories of tourist for niche marketing and conference tourism, by the initiative of Prime Mister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), the government of Ethiopia has developed state of the art of tourism facilities and conference centers that are friendly with the ecosystem on major tourism destination areas such as Wonchi, Gorgora, Koyisha and Beynouna.

In this connection, it is important to note that many tourist that has visited this attraction from various corner of the world witnessed the panorama and the paradise feeling of the marvelous destinations which leaves unforgettable memory that could last long in the life of the people.
Furthermore, throughout the visit to Ethiopia, tourist will have tremendous opportunity to explore and test the Ethiopian hospitality including the Ethiopian unique coffee ceremony, very healthy traditional and modern culinary and cultural dance of various rhythms and languages.

MICE Tourism

The term MICE is coined for Meeting, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition. Apart from the tourism destination Ethiopia is also becoming an important conference center in Africa.
The Ethiopian airlines, a flag career and the largest airlines in Africa in terms of both fleet and cargo serving more than 139 International and 23 local destinations, connects Africa to the world facilitating the movement of people, goods, ideas and culture. It also eases transportation for tourist, event organizers and participants coming from different part of the world for MICE tourism.
As Ethiopia hosts the Headquarter of the Africa Union (AU) and its predecessor, the Organization of the African Unity (OAU) in Addis Ababa, it has become the center of MICE tourism. Ethiopia, the beacon of hope for the emancipation of Africa from the shackle of colonialism, it has been the epicenter of the Pan Africanism movement as free and independent Black African country throughout its history.
Due to the fact that Ethiopia chosen to serve as a host country for many international and regional organizations in addition to AU. These are the Africa Union, the African Economic Commission (ECA), and the African Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Organization of Education Cooperation (OEC).

The OEC is the Global Education Union encompasses developing regions of the global south namely Africa, Latin America, Caribbean, Asia and the Middle East established with the aim of creating cooperation, partnership and solidarity among the people of the region in the area of Education. Besides, Ethiopia hosts more than 140 Embassies and other numerous intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations opened their office in Addis Ababa.
Addis Ababa, the third diplomatic capital next to New York and Geneva, Ethiopia hosts a lot of regional and international conference. As a result, from July to September 2025, Ethiopia will host four important international event in the beautifully city of Addis Ababa, the new flower.
The events are the Second United Nations Food System Summit Stock Take (UNFSS+4) to be held from 27-29 July 2025, the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2) that will be held from 8-10 September 2025 and the Africa-Caribbean Summit.

Furthermore, the Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam (GERD), one of the largest dam in the world built on the Blue Nile (Abay) and funded by the people of Ethiopia from all walks of life will be inaugurated in September 2025 in the Presence of many leaders and international figures from Africa and other parts of the world.
