During an official visit to Addis Ababa, Eshaq Al-e Habib, Advisor and Special Envoy to the Foreign Minister of Iran, met with Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister, Gedion Timothewos, to discuss expanding cooperation across multiple sectors. The two leaders highlighted their nations’ long-standing relationship and explored opportunities for deeper collaboration in various areas.
Al-e Habib and Timothewos held productive talks focused on broadening economic, political, and cultural partnerships. They discussed strategies to enhance cooperation within regional and international forums, recognizing the importance of fostering stronger ties in the global arena.
Both officials underscored the historical connections between Iran and Ethiopia, emphasizing the potential for growth in trade, investment, and scientific exchanges. They also identified areas for strengthened diplomatic coordination, particularly on international platforms.
Al-e Habib reaffirmed Iran’s dedication to furthering its relationship with Ethiopia, expressing confidence that continued dialogue would lead to more robust cooperation across a range of sectors. In response, Timothewos welcomed Iran’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations, noting Ethiopia’s readiness to expand diplomatic and economic engagement.
