On Thursday, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, held a phone conversation with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, where they discussed a range of regional and international matters of mutual concern.
Minister Abdelatty provided an in-depth account of Egypt’s stance on the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, particularly addressing the escalating violence in Gaza and Lebanon due to Israeli military actions. He called for an urgent ceasefire to prevent further loss of life and to mitigate the worsening humanitarian situation in the region.
Turning to bilateral relations, Minister Abdelatty emphasized the importance of building on the successful outcomes of recent high-level visits, including the Egyptian President’s trip to Baku in January 2023 and the Azerbaijani President’s visit to Cairo in June 2024. He highlighted the potential for enhancing economic cooperation, expanding trade, and attracting mutual investments between the two countries.
Minister Abdelatty also underscored the significance of continued collaboration on the global stage, urging both nations to offer reciprocal support for candidates from each country vying for international positions. The conversation reinforced the strong diplomatic ties between Egypt and Azerbaijan, underscoring their shared commitment to regional peace and international cooperation.
